Inside FRP Rebar: Manufacturing Tour Hosted by Mateenbar & ACMA

This tour will be held during the 2026 AASHTO Committee on Bridges and Structures Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC.

Experience a rare, behind‑the‑scenes look at how fiber‑reinforced polymer (FRP) rebar is made—from raw materials to finished, ready‑to‑ship product. This exclusive technical tour is sponsored by Mateenbar and the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the largest trade association serving the composites industry. ACMA is also a proud member of the National Concrete Bridge Council (NCBC), and Mateenbar participates in the ACMA Rebar Manufacturers Council.

Participants will be guided through Mateenbar’s state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility for an in‑depth look at:

Note: Participants will be asked to sign-in as a visitor for the tour stating that they will not take photographs while at the facility.

Schedule & Transportation

Departure: 2:00 PM from the Sheraton Charlotte

Return: Approximately 5:00 PM

Transportation: Round‑trip transportation between the Sheraton and the Mateenbar facility is provided.

(Note: The schedule is designed to allow at least one hour between the tour return and the evening reception.)

Safety Requirements

To ensure a safe and comfortable visit, all attendees must follow the facility’s PPE and attire guidelines:

• Closed‑toe shoes required
• Full‑length pants required
• Long sleeves not required
• Basic PPE will be provided on site
